Fiverr is one of the top online services that allows anyone from any country to offer their service at an insanely low price. It's also very popular among freelancers who want to make money quickly without having to spend thousands to start a business or hire employees. Even though it seems too good to be true (and sometimes it really is), there have been several occasions when people were unhappy with their orders and wanted to request refunds - but how does this actually happen? Is it possible to get a full refund after placing an order on Fiverr? In this post we will cover all aspects about requesting refunds on Fiverr.
If you're interested in getting started as a freelancer on Fiverr today, here is a step-by-step guide on what you should do before posting a job to ensure that you can secure a full refund if needed later. If you've already posted your first gig and someone requested a refund, read this article so you'll know exactly how to go through such process yourself. You might even find some ideas and tips useful to improve your next gigs.
Note: This information was written based on our personal experience using Fiverr. We recommend reading official guidelines provided by Fiverr itself. They may differ slightly depending on which region you live in.
No. As soon as you click "Post Your Gig" button you agree to pay $5 per accepted task. The moment you accept the terms of service, you automatically authorize Fiverr to charge your debit card and send out payment immediately. Once the funds transfer into Fiverr's account they become unavailable to you until the client pays back his/her part of the fee. There are no exceptions to these rules. So once you place your bid on a particular project, you cannot cancel it unless the buyer agrees to give you back your 5$ fee. However, if you placed your bid and then changed your mind, you could always withdraw your bids, but you won't receive any refund since those bids became binding contracts once you clicked "Accept".
This means that you can only choose whether or not you wish to continue bidding on specific projects. If you decide to stop bidding on certain jobs, you must wait 24 hours so Fiverr can remove them from its database. Otherwise, you risk losing access to future opportunities.
In addition, if you leave early or fail to complete a contract within 90 days, Fiverr reserves the right to withhold 10% of the total fees paid to you. Since most customers tend to take more than 90 days to finish tasks, this rule applies mostly to large projects where clients need a lot of time to review proposals.
In short, while you have the option to reject a gig, doing so comes at great risks. Make sure you understand everything before accepting the terms of service agreement. Read over the fine prints carefully!
Yes. But it depends on what kind of services you ordered. For example, if you decided to sell photos, you can ask for a refund up to 7 days after receiving the pictures. If you ordered graphic design work, you can return the product up to 14 days after delivery. And if you ordered writing works, you can ask for a refund up to 30 days after submitting your final draft. On average, it takes 4 weeks to deliver finished products, so keep this deadline in mind.
However, if you didn't like the quality of the item you received, you can file a dispute on Fiverr customer support site under My Orders menu. To do so, open the relevant order, select the reason why you'd like to appeal the transaction, and provide supporting evidence. Then submit the form. Depending on your location, Fiverr usually responds to disputes within 2-3 working days. Note that you need to attach digital images showing damages or errors, along with copies of other important documents.
You should note that Fiverr charges 15% commission whenever you receive a refund. While this fee isn't much compared to overall cost of the gig ($5 vs. 150%), you still need to consider it when deciding whether or not to appeal.
Don't worry! Most users never encounter problems because almost every gig you see has positive reviews. That said, if you ever feel uncomfortable with some aspect of your order, contact Fiverr via email directly from the order page. Provide clear details about the situation, including screenshots, videos, etc., and include links to whatever supports your claims. Be honest and polite, because bad emotions aren't going to help your case.
It's worth noting that Fiverr doesn't allow negative feedback left by buyers on completed gigs. Therefore, if you tried to negotiate with a dissatisfied customer, he/she would likely refuse to issue a refund and try to run away with the goods instead.
So just remember that if you're unsatisfied with a product, you should either fix it or simply return it. Do not leave angry messages on Fiverr seller accounts. Instead, use Fiverr Support system for resolving complaints. Unfortunately, they often require long conversations and explanation of the problem.
Unfortunately, Fiverr doesn't offer refunds. Unlike eBay, Amazon Marketplace, Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, Google Play Store, and similar platforms, Fiverr transactions occur between two private individuals outside the reach of third party intermediaries. Because of this fact, sellers are responsible for delivering quality items according to agreed upon specifications. Also, buyers are expected to follow explicit instructions regarding deadlines, content, quality, shipping, etc.
While Fiverr tries to avoid frauds, mistakes occasionally happen. When such events arise, both parties involved in the transaction bear responsibility for solving issues independently. Keep in mind that if you break the law during a Fiverr sale, you're potentially liable for fines and penalties imposed by local authorities.

How do you know whether the service that's offering you is worth its price tag? How can you find out how trustworthy the seller is before you choose to buy from them? Is there any way for you to ensure that what they're telling you is true? These questions haunt us every time we decide to try something new. The answer lies with online marketplace sites like Facebook Marketplace (formerly known as "Craigslist"), Amazon Local, or eBay Classifieds. But there's one site where people need answers fast -- FIVERR.com.
Founded by two entrepreneurs who have been frustrated by traditional online marketplaces' lack of transparency, Fiverr allows users to post gigs, which means that anyone can offer anything at any price, all under the guise of being paid $5 per task completed. The concept has been so successful that Fiverr recently raised an undisclosed amount of funding from some big-name investors including Y Combinator President Sam Altman. Nowadays, thousands upon thousands of services exist on this platform, making it easy to explore, research, compare prices, and even contact sellers without ever leaving the website itself.
But here comes the question no user wants to ask themselves when browsing through these gigs: Can I get my money back if I'm unsatisfied after completing the job? Will I receive my product/service? And most importantly - will the seller give me my money back? There aren't many other websites that allow such refunds...but there IS ONE!! Read on to learn more about getting your money back on Fiverr & why you should use it!
Note: This article was written based on personal experience using Fiverr only. As far as I know, nothing similar exists on other popular online marketplaces like Craigslist and eBay classifieds. However, please let me know if you know otherwise. Also note that since this article is published, Fiverr changed their policies significantly. For example, the company used to require users to submit a ticket within 30 days once a problem occurred. Now, however, problems take anywhere between 1 week to 2 months depending on the complexity of the issue.
Absolutely YES! If you complete the gig but don't want to continue working with the vendor you hired, then make sure to request a full refund before submitting your final payment. You'll notice that the option to Request Refund appears right next to each listing on the main page. When clicking this link, you'll see the following message appear.
Yes, you read that correctly. Not only does Fiverr provide a way for dissatisfied customers to get their money back, but they also encourage buyers to leave feedback immediately after receiving their service/product. In fact, Fiverr provides a special section just for negative reviews. So instead of wasting hours going round and around in circles over email, go straight to the source with a quick review submission.
Keep in mind that requesting a refund won't guarantee that you'll actually get your money back. It depends entirely on the vendor's policy. Some companies may charge interest fees, while others might refuse altogether. However, the important thing is that you were able to communicate directly with whoever you dealt with and resolve the situation quickly. Plus, since you've already submitted proof of purchase, you may end up saving yourself hundreds of dollars!
In addition, you must remember that vendors often include additional charges when selling products on Fiverr. Be weary of hidden costs like shipping fees, taxes, etc. Although the average buyer usually doesn't care much about those things, sometimes they add up and could potentially put you into debt. That said, always check the details thoroughly and understand exactly what you're paying for first.
As mentioned above, another aspect that determines whether or not you can get your money back is the length of time required to deliver your product/task. Since you can either work alone or team up with someone else, you may encounter multiple issues along the way. In these cases, it becomes increasingly difficult to track down information regarding delivery times or deadlines. Therefore, if you haven't received your item/job by the deadline stipulated, be mindful to follow up via phone call or e-mail.
While it seems unlikely, it's still possible to lose access to funds held in escrow accounts on platforms like PayPal due to technical glitches. To avoid losing your money, be cautious with sensitive financial transactions. Don't send large sums of cash or bank transfers unless you absolutely trust the person you're dealing with. Instead, consider wiring payments through banking institutions that monitor suspicious activities. Furthermore, never share private account numbers or passwords with anyone. Never sign contracts until everything is clear.
It goes without saying that you should remain vigilant whenever communicating with vendors on social media platforms like Skype, Twitter, Google Hangouts, etc. Make sure you recognize the profile picture, username, location, number, and name displayed alongside the text conversation. Otherwise, you could easily fall victim to scams. Remember that asking for too much upfront money, giving incorrect addresses, or failing to produce quality goods can result in serious consequences.
Unfortunately, yes. Scammers can exploit loopholes on Fiverr to trick unsuspecting buyers into handing over large amounts of money. Here are a few ways that fraudsters operate on Fiverr:
1) Time constraints
Vendors may promise instant results, especially when trying to sell high-demand items. Unfortunately, it takes longer than expected to create certain types of jobs. This leaves less time for fraudulent individuals to steal your money. They claim to start working immediately once they collect enough money up front. Then, they disappear forever and lock you out of your hard earned cash.
2) Low ball bids
Some unscrupulous people set very low bids when attempting to sell various items. By doing so, they essentially undercut honest suppliers and force them to accept ridiculously small offers. Sellers looking to unload high value products for cheap may unknowingly hand off their merchandise to illegitimate parties.
3) Double spending
You may come across listings that suggest splitting the cost of a single project or order among several different buyers. Fraudulent sellers will attempt to lure inexperienced shoppers into providing false credit card info, thereby allowing double billing. Once you begin sending money, the supplier simply uses the extra funds to cover his own expenses and pocket the rest.
4) Fake profiles
Many scammers impersonate real sellers in attempts to fool potential clients. Sometimes they pretend to be located somewhere other than where they really reside. Other times they pose as women, children, or foreign nationals. By creating fake identities, they can convince buyers to part with larger chunks of cash in exchange for worthless products.
I hope so! Yes, unfortunately Fiverr DOES NOT REFUND any monies lost in case of scamming attempts. While they do help facilitate communication between buyers and sellers, Fiverr cannot control third party interactions outside of the website. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for conducting thorough background checks and verifying credentials prior to entering into agreements with people. Moreover, Fiverr does not vet employees nor verify skillsets. Because of this, it's extremely crucial that you feel comfortable when engaging in conversations with strangers. Lastly, beware of free trials offered by legitimate providers. Free trials generally last 7-14 days, during which time you won't incur any charges. Afterward, the trial period ends automatically. Any purchases made during the trial phase ARE SUBJECT TO CANCELLATION OR CHARGEBACKS IF THE PRODUCT FAILS TO MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS.
Fiverr has been called "Craigslist for entrepreneurs" by many media outlets. It's an online market place where people can buy or sell services of all kinds at extremely low prices. If you've never used it before, check out this video from our friends over at The Next Web:
The company was launched in November 2011 with $5 million in funding [Broken URL Removed]. And since its launch, more than 2 million users have registered on the platform - and that number keeps growing every day. In fact, they recently surpassed 1 billion gigs sold through the site within just four months of opening their doors (that's gigabytes!). They're currently valued around $1 billion dollars after only two years. That kind of growth doesn't happen overnight...it takes careful planning and execution. So how did they do it? By being consistent and following some simple rules. They also had great marketing skills. Here's what I mean:

When you create a new account on FIVERR, you will be asked questions about yourself such as your name, email address, phone numbers, location, etc. You'll then need to provide them with information regarding who you are trying to reach. This helps build trust between both parties. Once you start using the service, there are certain things you should keep in mind. First off, don't give away too much information. No one likes surprises, especially when dealing with strangers. Keep your profile relatively anonymous so you won't end up getting scammed. Secondly, make sure everyone knows upfront exactly how long you intend to take projects until completion. Thirdly, always ask customers to leave feedback for you once project is complete. Also, try to follow these basic guidelines while making payments:
Payment Methods: PayPal, Credit Cards, Apple Pay, Google Wallet
Always use PayPal because it gives you peace of mind knowing that your money is safe. Most credit cards offer fraud protection but in case something goes wrong, PayPal offers refunds. When paying via PayPal, you must note down your transaction ID and send back any payment made less the fee paid per sale. However, it may take several days depending upon country regulations.
Apple pay works pretty well but sometimes the app glitches and sends double charges. To avoid this problem, it would help to install App Store & iTunes gift card which allows you to add funds directly into your bank accounts without having to worry about losing them due to technical problems. Another good way to avoid losing your money is to enable two factor authentication (2FA) option provided by most banks. With this feature enabled, even if someone gets access to your password, they still cannot log in unless they know another piece of data like PIN code sent to your cell phone.
Google wallet unfortunately requires you to hold onto your balance for 30 days prior to requesting a refund. As soon as your request is approved, google automatically deducts 3% fees from your remaining balance. Thereafter, you will receive a notification informing you that your remaining amount will expire in 28 days. After expiration date, you no longer have control over withdrawing your money.
If none of the above methods work, here's what you can do: contact support@fiverr.com and explain why you want a full refund. Then wait for 7 working days and see whether the issue is resolved. If you still cant resolve your dispute, go straight to your local consumer affairs office and file a formal complaint against Fiverr.
So far we haven't discussed negative reviews posted by clients on Fiverr. Although this is true, it's important to remember that most disgruntled customers simply didn't understand what they were signing up for. For example, maybe they thought that they will only spend 20 minutes doing a small job and then move on to bigger stuff next time instead of completing the task itself. Or perhaps they weren't given enough details regarding what they're going to be expected to accomplish. Whatever the reason may be, angry customers tend to post bad reviews about specific jobs rather than criticizing the entire service. Therefore, you shouldn't let negative reviews bother you as it doesn't reflect the quality of overall performance. On the contrary, positive reviews often show that the person who wrote those comments received a fantastic outcome from his experience on Fiverr. Unfortunately, most consumers fail to realize that the best things in life come free. Free advice, free assistance, free trials, free products, free samples, freebies, etc. All of these benefits are offered by companies across various industries, including technology, retail, financial services, health care, travel, entertainment, education, food delivery, home improvement, real estate, legal, insurance, automotive, fashion, and telecommunications among others. One thing remains constant though: everything comes at a price. But hey, isn't it better to pay little now than pay big later?
In general, dissatisfaction happens when expectations aren't met during project implementation. Sometimes buyers feel cheated and don't appreciate the effort put forth by sellers. Other times, the opposite scenario occurs where the seller feels he wasn't compensated properly. Either way, the bottom line is that neither party ends up happy.
To prevent this from happening, set deadlines, communicate clearly and frequently throughout the process, offer updates regularly, respond promptly to requests, and listen carefully to potential complaints.
You might think twice before posting negative reviews on Fiverr. Why? Because unhappy clients usually complain loudly. And when the volume rises, other users notice and begin asking similar questions. If you ever encounter issues with a client, send him an e-mail explaining your predicament. Ask him politely if you could please talk again in 24 hours' time. Hopefully, you'd find solutions together.
Here's what you should include in your message:
· Your first and last names.
· What type of business you run.
· How you found the product or service.
· Listing description of the item ordered.
· Reason for contacting him.
· Details surrounding the situation.
· Contact info.
· Time frame you expect resolution.
No matter what you purchased on Fiverr, you should be entitled to a full refund if you are dissatisfied with the final result. According to Consumer Affairs website, you are eligible to cancel your contract 90 days after purchase as long as you haven't started providing services yet. Before cancellation deadline passes, however, you must submit written request along with reasons for canceling.
It's important to note that you can also get a refund if you bought multiple items on the same shopping cart page. For instance, if you placed orders for different types of hair extensions, you can return the ones you don't like and ask for a partial refund for the rest. Just click 'cancel' button located on top right corner of each individual listing and write a letter stating the reason behind the decision. Furthermore, if you decide to get rid of an unwanted product, make sure you dispose of it safely according to laws governing hazardous waste disposal. Lastly, you should consider filing a formal complaint with relevant authorities if you believe that there's been fraudulent activity involved.
I'm glad you took the initiative to read my article thoroughly despite the title. Now let me clarify what actually happened. An unhappy client contacted us claiming she couldn't deliver her part of the agreed upon project. We subsequently requested additional pictures of the finished design and she sent us 4 photos instead. She claimed that they looked very poor quality and wouldn't pass muster. Our response was to notify her that failure to meet minimum requirements would lead to termination of agreement. If she refused to comply, we'd terminate the deal altogether. Since she continued resisting, we gave her 48hrs to reconsider our position otherwise we would proceed with cancellation. At that point, she decided to drop the whole idea and said she wanted nothing further to do with us.
Since we already spent considerable resources on creating original designs, we felt it necessary to protect ourselves legally and financially.. Hence, we canceled the deal and gave her 14days to pack her belongings. Needless to say, we lost lots of money and gained tons of publicity. Not surprisingly, this resulted in increased sales for us.
Now that you know the ins and outs of securing a Fiverr refund, go ahead and sign up for an account. Remember, you can always delete your account anytime and choose to stay anonymous forever. Don't forget to share this article with family and friends!
