Does Amazon have a referral program?

The Amazon Employee Referral Program (ERP) was established in 2012 to help employees refer their friends, family members, or other people they know who are interested in working at Amazon. As it's been around since the beginning of the company, many questions arise about how this works, what sort of rewards there are, and if anyone actually gets paid out through the ERP.

In 2019, we took a look at all of these things and more for some answers on whether or not you can earn money by referring your friends to Amazon jobs. We also looked into how exactly the Amazon Employee Referral Program works. Let’s take another look at everything we learned from our research!

How much do Amazon pay for referrals?

As mentioned above, the Amazon Employee Referral Program pays cash bonuses to those who successfully refer others who apply for jobs with the company. The amount depends on which position the person referred applies for and where he/she lives. For example, someone living in California will be eligible for $5,000 per year while someone living in New York City may only receive $2,500. In addition, the referral must go through before January 31st every year, so make sure you're taking advantage of any referral opportunities as soon as possible.

While you don't need to meet certain requirements to qualify for a referral bonus, you'll need to make sure you've submitted your application during open positions available periods. You should also keep in mind that once you've signed up for the Amazon Employee Referral Program, it doesn't matter when you submit your referral information. If you send it off after the deadline but prior to the start date of the position, you still stand a chance of getting a referral bonus. So long as you follow all of the rules listed above, you can expect to see a nice chunk of change deposited directly into your bank account.

Do you get a referral bonus for Amazon?

Yes. While the exact amounts differ depending on location, qualification criteria, etc., most employees who join Amazon will receive a referral bonus ranging anywhere between $1,000 - $10,000 each year. It could even be higher than that if you were to manage to land yourself a high-paying position within the company. To put that into perspective, the average salary for a full-time employee at Amazon is roughly $70,000 annually. That means you'd likely end up earning more than half a million dollars over the course of a lifetime working at the company.

If you want to learn more about how much the Amazon Employee Referral Bonus really is, check out our article on how much Amazon pays for referrals.

How much is a normal referral bonus?

It's important to note that the size of the referral bonus isn't always equal to the amount of time spent trying to find new hires. Some people have reported receiving bonuses that were several thousand dollars larger than expected based on the number of hours they invested. This makes sense because most employers would rather hire a candidate who has already proven themselves capable of doing the job instead of one who needs training and guidance. However, it does mean that you'll definitely come away with something extra if you invest enough energy toward finding great candidates.

There are two types of referral programs: internal and external. Internal refers to hiring managers and supervisors looking to fill specific roles within their own departments. External refers to companies outside of Amazon who wish to recruit talent from the company itself. Both offer comparable levels of compensation, though the latter comes with additional perks like travel reimbursement and stock options.

One thing worth noting here is that you might not necessarily get a referral bonus if you apply for a job using your personal email address. Companies often use dedicated recruitment portals for this purpose, meaning that if you sign up under your real name, then you won't receive anything unless you're hired internally first. Other times, such as with retail positions, you might be required to complete applications via the company website.

How do Amazon job referrals work?

Once you've found a suitable employer and filled out their online form, you'll need to create an account on the official Amazon referral portal. Once done, you'll be able to share your referral links with everyone else you know. These links allow them to apply for jobs without having to type out their entire resume again. All qualified applicants will receive emails containing the link to the submission page. They simply click the button and enter their basic contact info along with a few details regarding why they feel they're suited for the role. From there, it's just a waiting game until the applicant receives an interview request.

Most companies prefer you wait a minimum of 24 hours before sending your referral link to potential recruits. This gives them plenty of time to review the application and decide whether or not they want to move forward with the process. After the 24 hour mark passes, the recruiter will reach out to let you know whether or not your friend received an interview invitation. At that point, you'll need to respond immediately and confirm whether or not they accepted an invite, otherwise you risk losing out on any referral benefits.

After you've confirmed that your friend got an interview, you'll either need to sit back and watch as they accept the job -- or you can try to convince them to stay at Amazon despite the opportunity elsewhere. There are no guarantees here, but you never know what kind of impact you can have on someone's career path.

If you think you'd enjoy being part of the Amazon team, consider applying today!

Amazon's Referral Program FAQs

In 2014, when the terms for the referral program were changed due to new laws, Amazon decided not to pay any bonuses anymore. However, those changes did not affect the way the program worked.

What does "participate" mean exactly?

To participate in the referral program means you must give your friend or relative your personal information so they can apply online with Amazon. You don't need to sign up, but once the person applies, you will receive notification by email letting you know they've applied.

Is there anything I should be aware of before I send my referrals?

If you're sending referrals, make sure you do everything correctly. Make sure the individual applying has enough money in his/her account to purchase the item(s), as well as a credit card on file. It also helps to keep track of the status of each application via emails, checking back every few days.

Also remember to check the Amazon website frequently to see if the referred applicant has purchased the product. The first time someone purchases something, they'll get a special code sent to them via email that allows them to enter into the promotional offer. This code expires after one use per customer.

Will Amazon ever contact me directly regarding my referrals?

No, the only communication received from Amazon comes via the email notifications you receive. If you want to speak to a representative about your referrals, you can call 1-800-331-0007 or submit a request here. Note that you cannot talk to representatives unless you're calling in order to ask about your referrals.

If you're new to online shopping or haven't shopped on Amazon in a while, there's a good chance you'll be surprised by how much more expensive many products are now than they used to be. The main reason for this is Amazon Prime Day, which runs every year during the summer months, but also happens occasionally throughout the rest of the year. It's one of those events where you can score some great deals on certain types of merchandise if you happen to find them at their lowest prices ever (and sometimes even cheaper than you'd pay anywhere else).

But what about all the other times when your favorite brands aren't offering big discounts, like when you need something right away or just want to save money? Well, then maybe you should consider using Amazon as your primary source for buying things instead of going through any brick-and-mortar stores. And if you're already a customer with a Prime membership, why not use that to earn yourself free perks? That's exactly what the Amazon Employee Referral Program was designed to help people accomplish.

In addition to Prime benefits such as unlimited two-day shipping, Amazon has its own rewards system called "Amazon Rewards," which gives customers points based on purchases made inside the store as well as outside. You can redeem these points toward gift cards and other perks. But did you know there's another way to rack up extra rewards without having to spend anything? By referring friends who buy stuff on Amazon!

Here we'll explain everything about the Amazon referral program so you can decide whether it's worth signing up for, and if it is, learn how to maximize your chances of earning a nice chunk of change.

How does Amazon refer program work?

One great thing about Amazon is that most of its products come direct from manufacturers rather than being sold through third parties, meaning you won't run into problems trying to return faulty goods or missing parts later down the road. So if you've bought something recently or plan on making future purchases on Amazon, you might want to think about getting involved with the Amazon Referral Program. Once you sign up, you'll see a list of different options under the My Account section of Amazon's website.

The first option available for you is to set up a personalized Amazon account. From here you'll be able to log in whenever you shop on Amazon and track your spending habits over time. Another option is to create a Wish List, which allows you to build a collection of products you intend to buy in the near future.

Once you've signed up for either option, you'll see a button labeled Get Started Now next to each. Clicking this button will open a dropdown menu listing three separate categories -- Amazon, Amazon Gift Cards, and Amazon Pay. Select the category you prefer and click Next Step to continue.

After choosing one of those categories, you'll begin seeing promotional offers appear across the top of the screen. These include coupons for various products, special sales, and other incentives related to specific promotions. For instance, I saw a coupon offer for $10 off my entire order if I referred someone who purchased $50 worth of items within 30 days. As you scroll further down the page, you'll see more offers like that. Some of them are clearly targeted towards current customers, while others seem aimed at potential buyers.

When you find a promotion you like, simply select the product(s) you would like to purchase, then choose Continue Shopping below the promo box. When you go back to check out, you'll notice several boxes asking you to enter personal information, including your name, phone number, address, etc. Once you fill out the form, you'll be asked to review the terms and conditions before proceeding. After doing so, the payment option window will pop up. Make sure you select Add Credit Card, since you'll still be required to provide your billing info regardless of whether or not you actually make the purchase.

You'll see a message saying Thank You once you complete the transaction. At this point, you can proceed onto checkout, but if you don't feel comfortable yet, you can always wait until tomorrow to finish purchasing your items. In fact, you could even cancel your subscription altogether and forget about the whole deal entirely if you want to try something else out. Just remember to follow the same steps above again the following day.

How do referrals work at Amazon?

So far, so good. Now let's talk about how you can earn cash bonuses for bringing in new shoppers. To start, you must register for an Amazon account, which is easy enough. Then, navigate to the My Account tab located in the left sidebar. Underneath the Personal Information heading, you'll see a field labeled Refer Friends & Family. Simply add your friend's contact information and hit Save Changes.

Now comes the fun part -- sending emails inviting them to shop at Amazon.com. There are plenty of ways to send emails, but probably the easiest method is via the Amazon Email App on Android devices. Open the app and tap Menu followed by Settings. Scroll down to Referrals and enable the feature. Choose Send Invitation, type in the email addresses of everyone you wish to invite, and confirm. You'll receive confirmation shortly thereafter, and then it's just a matter of waiting for your friend to respond.

As soon as they accept your invitation, you'll automatically receive a welcome email letting you know they're ready to shop. All you have to do is show them around Amazon and give them tips on how to best utilize the site. They'll likely ask questions along the way, which means you can answer them with helpful advice too.

How does the referral bonus work at Amazon?

In case you missed it earlier, the purpose of the Amazon Employee Referral Bonus is to encourage employees to bring in new customers by rewarding them for successfully completing tasks associated with the referral process. Since you have to have a registered account to participate, you're obviously ineligible to earn a reward unless you join. However, you can still earn money by sharing your referral link with coworkers, family members, and anyone else you deem worthy.

To qualify for a referral bonus, you'll need to meet certain requirements. First, you'll need to refer someone who completes a qualifying purchase totaling between $25 and $100. Second, both you and the person you sent the referral to will have to stay subscribed to Amazon Prime indefinitely. Third, you'll have to remain active for 90 consecutive days. Finally, you have to keep track of the individual's activity on the site, such as tracking orders placed, viewing reviews, and checking out feedback provided by previous buyers.

There are five tiers of referral bonuses depending on how many referrals you manage to bring in. Here are the amounts you can expect to earn per month:

Tier 1 - 5% of total qualified referrals earned

Tier 2 - 10% of total qualified referrals earned

Tier 3 - 15% of total qualified referrals earned

Tier 4 - 20% of total qualified referrals earned

Tier 5 - 25% of total qualified referrals earned

It takes roughly four weeks to accumulate enough referrals to reach Tier 5 status, although you can potentially earn rewards quicker if you're willing to invest additional effort. One important note though -- because the referrals themselves cannot be tracked individually, you'll need to rely on the person receiving the referral to send you proof that he/she completed a qualifying purchase.

How long does it take to get a referral email from Amazon?

This varies quite a bit depending on who you are. Typically, it takes a few minutes for your referral to arrive in your inbox. Sometimes, however, it can take hours or even longer.

For example, I'm currently enrolled in the Amazon Employee Referral Program and have been actively promoting it to my friends and colleagues. Despite my efforts, I never received a single response from anybody. Even worse, I had no idea what happened to the hundreds of dollars I spent on the monthly service fees. Fortunately, it turns out that I didn't lose anything, but I certainly wasted a lot of time and energy on a futile endeavor.

That said, if you're patient enough to stick with it for a couple of months, eventually you'll start seeing results. On the plus side, it doesn't cost you anything beyond the initial registration fee, and you can easily switch accounts if you become discouraged.

Amazon has been in existence for over two decades now. It's one of the most popular online shopping destinations in the world with millions of visitors per day. That said, it isn't always easy to get started as an affiliate marketer on Amazon. Many people are still unaware of how they can earn money from their purchases through Amazon. But what if you could be paid just by referring someone else who buys something from them? This is exactly what Amazon refers to as its "referral" or "employee referral" programs.

These programs allow users to refer other shoppers and receive a certain percentage of commission when those referrals make sales. In addition, there are also some companies that offer bonuses based on your own purchase history (or even more than once). These include things like free shipping, discounts, cash back rewards, and gift cards.

In this article we will explain all about these types of referral programs offered by Amazon along with where you can find your Amazon employee referral code so you can start earning commissions today! If you're looking to sign up for Amazon Prime, then you'll want to read our guide on how to become an Amazon Prime member instead.

Does Amazon have an employee referral program?

Yes, Amazon does indeed have a number of different ways that you can earn extra income from your friends' purchases. You might not know it yet, but many people use Amazon products every single week without realizing it. The reason why is because Amazon offers thousands upon thousands of products across multiple categories. There are literally hundreds of thousands of product listings available on Amazon alone. So, it doesn't matter whether you shop on Amazon regularly or occasionally. You may already be using Amazon frequently enough to qualify for an Amazon employee referral bonus. However, if you haven’t made any purchases recently, don't worry - you should still consider signing up for Amazon Prime anyway.

The best thing about Amazon's employee referral program is that you won't need to buy anything yourself before being eligible to claim your compensation. All you need to do is share information about your friend(s) who bought something on Amazon.com with you after which you both will get rewarded accordingly. As long as you follow the steps below while doing so, you'll definitely be able to see results pretty quickly!

Once you've signed up for an account on Amazon, click on Your Account. Then select My Referrals under Your Orders & Purchases section. From here, you can view all of the orders placed by your referrals during the past few months. Clicking on each order will reveal additional details such as the seller name, item purchased, and date of purchase. Next, simply copy down the unique ID associated with each sale and enter it into the box provided next to the option labelled "Referrer ID."

You can easily find out the unique ID of your friends' orders by visiting the Seller Central page of the specific merchant you referred. For example, if you shared an order between you and another person, go to the merchant's website and look for the line containing the word "Seller," followed by "ID:" in parentheses. Copy down the unique ID listed alongside that text. Now, paste that same ID into the box shown above.

If you're wondering where you can find your Amazon employee referral code, then you shouldn't feel left behind. Here's the good news: you can actually find your Amazon employee referral code right within the referral system itself. After sharing a reference order via email with your friend, log into your Amazon account and head to Order History. Choose the first entry in the list labeled Referencer ID. You will notice the URL displayed beside the entry contains a string of numbers following the letter “P”.

Copy down everything inside the brackets except the last four digits. Keep in mind that the final 4-digit value represents the total amount of referral points earned by that user. Once you have copied down the entire string, open a new tab and visit the Amazon Employee Referral Portal. Paste the complete referral code generated earlier into the field located directly above the phrase "Employee Referral Bonus Amount." Ensure that all letters are capitalized correctly. Finally, click Continue. You will now be redirected to the main screen of the portal. Congratulations, you have successfully found your Amazon employee referral bonus!

While you're waiting for your Amazon employee referral bonus, keep checking out all of the tips and resources available on the site! We have a full FAQ section dedicated specifically to questions regarding the referral program, and several articles discussing various aspects of making money on Amazon.

Does Amazon give employee referral bonus?

As mentioned previously, Amazon gives its employees special incentives whenever they refer others to purchase goods on the platform. Some of these incentive schemes come attached with certain conditions, however. While there are no restrictions on the type of goods sold on Amazon, you must meet certain criteria to be eligible. To begin, you must either have made a qualifying transaction within the previous three months or have made five separate transactions within the preceding six months. Moreover, the individual referred must reside within the United States or Canada, although international residents can participate too. And finally, you must have a valid Amazon account.

Where do I find my Amazon employee referral code?

Unfortunately, finding your Amazon employee referral code isn't really straightforward. Most often, the only way to obtain access is by contacting Amazon customer service. When you contact Amazon support, you will likely have to provide a bit of proof that you did indeed refer someone. Otherwise, there is no guarantee that your request will be approved.

However, if you'd prefer to avoid going through this process altogether, there is another alternative -- namely, using the official Amazon referral code generator tool. With this tool, you simply input the required information and hit generate. A short time later, you will receive an email with instructions on how to redeem your reward. Just remember to follow the rules outlined in the aforementioned paragraph!

How much is the referral bonus at Amazon?

There are currently three levels of referral bonus amounts depending on how many times you've completed qualifying transactions. Each level earns you 0.5%, 1% and 2%. So, let's say you had 10 customers whom you helped sell $500 worth of merchandise on Amazon.com. If you were awarded the lowest tier, then you would earn $50 for referring those ten individuals. On the other hand, you would receive $100 for referring 25 individuals, and $200 for referring 50 individuals.

Note that you must reach the maximum payout threshold before claiming any kind of promotional bonus. For instance, if you qualified to receive a 2% referral bonus, you must have accumulated 200 qualifying transactions prior to receiving your payment. Therefore, there is no point sending referrals until you have reached that milestone.

Finally, keep in mind that you cannot apply for more than one referral bonus at a given time. So, if you received a bonus for selling $500 worth of merchandise, you cannot apply for another one unless you fulfill the eligibility requirements again.

With this in mind, if you plan on becoming an active Amazon merchant, you should seriously consider enrolling in Amazon Prime. Not only will you enjoy unlimited streaming content, free two-day delivery, and discounted prices on countless products, you will also benefit from numerous perks for referring others to join. Plus, you will be entitled to take advantage of Amazon's exclusive deals and promotions throughout the year.
