So how does Fiverr work? How much should you charge for gigs posted on the site? And most importantly, how do you actually get paid once you begin completing jobs via the app? Here's everything you need to know about posting a gig on Fiverr.

Now that you know how much to charge for gigs on Fiverr, how do you actually pay for them once they've been accepted? Regardless of how you pay, the process is largely identical across different regions.
When sending funds to sellers, you should note that PayPal automatically converts local currencies into US dollars prior to processing transfers. To solve this issue, open Fiverr Payments & Credits settings under Account Settings " Payment Methods and select Manual Credit Card Entry. Then fill in your details and save changes. Once approved, manual entries become available again.
Once you receive a finished gig from a seller, look for an area inside the message box labeled something along the lines of "Invoice." Click on it to access a pop-up window that allows you to review the previous conversation and attach relevant documents. Next, hit Send Invoice and wait for a response. If you want to advertise your skill as a writer or editor, designer or programmer, then the best way to go about this is by creating a “gig”—a short description that explains what you do, how long each job takes, and the price range for those jobs. The more specific you get, the better chance you have at attracting potential clients who might need work done. Here’s how to start one.
First off, you don’t technically create a “gig” yourself on Fiverr, but rather sell one. For example, if you’re a freelance photographer, when you submit a photo edit request under the Photography category, you’re actually selling someone else’s time as part of a gig. So in order to understand all of these rules, we must first discuss gigs.
Yes, absolutely! There are plenty of ways to make a gig completely free. All you need to do is set up a profile, upload two photos, describe your experience, add testimonials, link to other sites where others have found you, include links to previous work, write down your availability, and share the link through whatever channels you prefer. Then sit back while strangers click on your gig listing and enquire about hiring you.
As far as pricing goes, you should try not to put too high of prices right out of the gate because most people aren’t going to pay $5 per hour just to test drive your product. That being said, if you already know what you charge per project/hour, feel free to list that number here instead of setting a flat rate. In fact, most people won’t even look at listings below $10 unless they specifically search for something lower than that amount. Just keep in mind that you shouldn’t undercut yourself either. Some freelancers like to give away work to earn extra money, but I personally wouldn’t recommend that approach since it hurts your reputation as well as your chances of getting paid later. It also doesn't help differentiate yourself among companies who decide to hire multiple vendors for different projects. Lastly, remember that you only control the total cost of your gig, so if you list a higher hourly rate than you would typically bill clients, consider cutting down on hours or adding additional payment tiers.
I highly suggest using Gigbucks though, which allows you to post both fixed rates AND hourly rates on Fiverr without having to worry about splitting the difference between them. This makes things easier for both you and future customers since you can post a single price and people can easily choose whether they want to use the cheaper method.
Also note that posting your hourly rate isn’t enough. You’ve got to provide context around why you’re charging that particular rate. People generally respond better to requests that explain exactly why they should engage with you over another vendor. Don’t forget to include information related to quality, professionalism, timeliness, customer support, brand safety, etc... Basically, think of every reason that you’d tell someone NOT to hire you before explaining why you deserve to be hired.
You betcha. First off, you don’t need to spend a dime to open up shop on Fiverr. As mentioned above, you’ll always be able to showcase your existing portfolio. However, you could always take it further by creating new accounts for certain types of gigs such as wedding photography, fashion photography, illustration, event planning, business consultation, etc. But again, be sure to include examples whenever possible.
