As mentioned above, you'll likely have to invest in software, hosting, and other necessary items to ensure success. But again, the upside is that you can scale up or down depending on whether you feel confident in your ability to build a profitable audience.
Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference. There is no wrong way to go about pursuing an online income stream. Personally, I chose option 2 because I enjoy being able to control the details of my business. I love knowing that I am earning steady revenue and I get to decide how much time goes into growing my brand versus making money. Also, I prefer to work with smaller companies that provide excellent customer service and allow me to build relationships with experts in my field.
