How Handy Are Leadfeeder.com’s Analytics?

A lot of marketers swear on Google Analytics like it’s the Bible of website tracking. It may be a capable tool — but its capabilities are limited. The good news is that there is a wide range of other tools that take analytics to a whole new level.

Leadfeeder is a website tracker that builds on the prowess of Google Analytics. It uses the data gathered from Google to help you compile an actionable list of leads. You can determine which of your website visitors can become qualified leads, manage how your team works with them, and automate tasks to streamline the process.

Through its connection with some of the best CRM solutions and Zapier’s comprehensive list of integrations, Leadfeeder is an efficient marketing and sales tool.

Before we check out what Leadfeeder can do, here’s an overview of the tool and the company behind it:

Why You Should Trust Us About Leadfeeder

When it comes to lead generation software, we’ve got a lot of experience. AnyLeads — the exceptionally successful company that helped Microsoft, Google, and Coca Cola generate 10,000,000+ leads — was founded by our CEO, Mathieu Picard.

We’ve got the results that prove we know what a good lead generation tool is supposed to do, and we’re here to help you decide whether Leadfeeder is what you’re looking for. You can take a look at our other software reviews if you need an alternative solution.

Leadfeeder Pricing

Leadfeeder Pricing

The pricing page on the Leadfeeder website offers two plans:

  • Lite

  • Premium

The Lite plan provides a stripped-down version of the tool for free. You get an overview of no more than three days worth of website visitor tracking. The number of leads that the tool can show is limited. If in those three days more people visit your website, you’ll only be able to see the information about the first one hundred. You can’t use the majority of the platform's crucial features, such as feed management, CRM integrations, company information, and website visit details.

The Premium plan enables you to use all of Leadfeeder's features. The problem with the pricing page is that the way the information is presented is confusing. You have to click on How we calculate the price to get the full picture. Even though the price is listed as “from $55 per month,” the monthly price actually starts at $69. The originally listed amount relates to the 20% discount that you can only get if you opt for the annual subscription.

To make things more complicated, the price is connected to the number of leads you can get information on. The lowest price enables you to overview just 100 visitors. To get more, you have to choose one of the pricing tiers, ranging up to 5000 visitors for $629 per month.

Leadfeeder Free Trial

You might get even more confused when you click on the “Sign up” button for the Lite plan. It takes you to the screen where you sign up for the free trial. While the navigation is puzzling, the explanation is simple — before settling for either of the plans, you get to use the tool for 13 days free of charge. The free trial is referred to as the Premium trial — meaning that you get to use all of Leadfeeder’s features. Once the trial is over, you can either stick with the Premium plan or choose to downgrade to the significantly more restricted Lite plan.

Setting Up Your Leadfeeder Account

Leadfeeder Account Setup

To open a Leadfeeder account, go to the Start Free Trial screen, as shown in the previous section. Enter your work email and password, and you will be taken to the account creation wizard.

In the first step, you need to set up the website you want to track. To do so, you should:

  1. Enter your company name

  2. Input your website address

  3. Click on Continue

The following step will ask for your personal information, including:

  1. First name

  2. Last name

  3. Phone number

The rest of the wizard will enable you to configure the tool based on:

  • Your role in the company

  • The number of your sales team members

  • The way you intend to use Leadfeeder

You can also set up your preferred CRM and email marketing tool integrations. If you don’t have any yet or want to do this later, just click on Next.

Leadfeeder Tracker Script Installation

The final step requires installing the Leadfeeder tracker script. There are many ways that you can do this, depending on your website structure and the content management system you may be using. You can find the guide here.

Leadfeeder Features

Leadfeeder is primarily a website tracking and lead generation tool. Its essential features can be classified into the following categories:

  1. Lead tracking and insights

  2. Lead management

  3. Automation

  4. Integration

Lead Tracking and Insights

One of Leadfeeder’s primary strengths is its integration with Google Analytics. This enables the tool to collect extensive information about your website visitors. You get a full overview of their activity and valuable insight into their interests. You can also use this information to assess the performance of each individual page on your site. Click on any lead to see the information that the tool was able to collect.

The information that Leadfeeder collects is classified into the following categories:

  • Company information

  • Contact information

  • Visits

  • CRM integration

Company Information

Leadfeeder Company Information

Leadfeeder collects data on any company whose representative visits your website. It enables you to determine whether this information is relevant to your business efforts and helps you get in touch with potential leads. Apart from Google, the tool collects data from LinkedIn, Clearbit, Crunchbase, and its own database.

The company information that the tool can collect includes:

  • Name

  • Description

  • Size

  • Industry

  • Revenue

  • Website

  • Social media links

  • LinkedIn page

Contact Information

Leadfeeder Contact Information

Leadfeeder collects essential information on any contacts related to the company that visited your site. This includes:

  • Name

  • Job title

  • Email address

  • Social media links

The tool will list crucial contacts within the company to help you find qualified leads that you should get in touch with. Click on the envelope icon and write to them via your favorite email software.

The contact data collected by Leadfeeder cannot be exported. The company respects privacy and complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You can use the information within the tool but you cannot import it into other software.

Visits

Leadfeeder Visit Tracking

Leadfeeder tracks every visit to your website and shows the following information:

  • Time and date

  • Source and medium

  • Number of visited pages

  • Specific pages — including the URL, title, and duration of the visit

  • Visitor ID number

  • Total time spent on your website

The visitor ID numbers are automatically assigned to every new visitor. They are shown in colored circles to help you manage them easily.

CRM Integration

If you’ve integrated Leadfeeder with a CRM, you will have an overview of the information such as:

  • Which account the lead is connected to

  • Who the account owner is

  • What the deal specifics are — including pipeline stage, creation date, and closing date

  • What the task specifics are — such as status, priority, and due date

Lead Scoring

Leadfeeder Lead Scoring

Every lead registered by the tool is scored according to two major factors:

  • Activity on the website

  • Availability of company and contact information

You can see the score bar to the right of every company or contact in your feed. If the bar is high and green, it means that the lead has been active on your website and that Leadfeeder has been able to collect a significant amount of information. If the score is medium, the bar will be orange. The leads with this rating are probably still valuable to your business. Leads that have a red score haven’t spent much time on your website and there isn’t a lot of information you can use on them.

You can see particular details for each rating, including:

  • Number of visits

  • Time of the last visit

  • Number of bounces

  • Number of page views

  • Quality rating on a 1–10 scale

Lead Management

Lead management in Leadfeeder is performed via feeds. The primary goal of the feeds is to group lead information in line with specific parameters, making it easier to handle every lead efficiently. There are two kinds of feeds — basic and custom.

Leadfeeder Feeds

Basic feeds have pre-defined criteria for listing companies and contacts. They are divided into:

  • All leads — Provides you with a list of all the leads collected during a set period

  • Followed companies — You can overview all the companies that you have manually chosen to follow here

  • Leads assigned to me — Every lead that has been assigned to you will appear here

  • New leads — Shows the leads that have visited your website for the first time during a specified period

  • Top leads — Lists the visitors that have more than three page views and aren’t assigned to any user

All the feeds can be edited except for the All leads feed.

You can create a custom feed to group leads based on a parameter of your choosing, such as industry, specific webpages, or geographical location. Set up daily and weekly email notifications to keep an eye on any companies and contacts that match your settings.

You can perform multiple actions to ensure that you and your team members can manage the leads easily. This includes:

  • Assigning

  • Tagging

  • Following

  • Hiding

Most of the actions can be found in the top-most bar above the lead information.

Leadfeeder Lead Assignment

Click on Assign to set up who is responsible for a particular lead. Find the appropriate team member in the drop-down menu and add a comment if necessary. The lead will now have a button titled Assigned under their name. You can click on it and choose Unassign if needed.

Leadfeeder Lead Tagging

Tagging is useful because it enables you to instantly see what a lead means to your business. They can be tagged as a:

  • Competitor

  • Customer

  • Prospect

  • Supplier

  • Unqualified lead

Click on Add tag and choose one of the options. You can also create new tags.

When you follow a lead, they will appear in the Followed companies feed. If you need to hide a lead, click on them and look for the Hide company visits option. To unhide them, you should:

  1. Click on the tab with your name in the top-right corner

  2. Choose Settings for (your company)

  3. Click on the Website tab

  4. Go to the Hidden companies tab in the navigation bar on the left

  5. Find the company and click on Show in timeline again

Automation

Leadfeeder Automation

You can set up an action — such as assigning or tagging — to be performed under specific conditions. The action can be triggered:

  • When new leads appear — up to 12 times per day

  • Daily — every day at 9 AM

  • Weekly — every Monday at 9 AM

Automation options are available during custom feed creation. You can edit them and add new ones in the Automations menu under the Website tab. If necessary, you can pause them here as well.

Keep in mind that every new lead will be processed just once. This setting is a kind of fail-safe for bypassing duplicate actions.

You can also automate sending the leads to any of the integrated CRMs.

Integration

As we have already mentioned, Leadfeeder’s primary integration is with Google Analytics. You can also connect it to Google Data Studio and Google Hangouts Chat. If you need a more extensive communications platform, you can easily work with Slack. When it comes to email marketing software, Leadfeeder’s native integration solution is MailChimp.

For your sales, marketing, and customer support needs, you can benefit from integrating with some of the most popular CRM systems in the industry. Your options are:

  • HubSpot

  • Salesforce

  • Zoho

  • Pipedrive

  • Dynamics 365

  • webCRM

Leadfeeder is also integrated with Zapier, enabling you to connect with 2,000+ apps of your choosing.

Why You Should Try White-Label Lead Generation Software

Leadfeeder does a decent job of generating leads based on your website traffic. This kind of solution can be useful if you’ve got a strong online presence. A startup that’s working its way to the big leagues won’t benefit much from a tool like this. Even if your website has enough visitors, there are still thousands of leads out there that you could reach in a different way.

When it comes to lead generation, we at Sell SaaS have got more than one solution for you.

You should check out our enrichment data software. Use it to find cold leads in our extensive database of B2B websites and domains. The search function provides a variety of filters, enabling you to narrow down your results. Find leads according to industry, company size, geographical location, and more.

If you need to collect essential lead information, such as phone numbers, email addresses, and social media profile URLs, you can try our email, phone & social media extractor. You need to upload a list of domains and let the tool extract all the data it can find. Export the list of leads into a spreadsheet file for later use. This tool works hand-in-hand with our daily registered domains collector. You can get new domain information via WhoIs and upload it into the extractor.

You can also check out some of the other apps from our software bundle, such as:

Chatbot solution for capturing leads

Our chatbot solution may not be a website tracking tool, but you can integrate it into your site for a more natural interaction with your visitors. Let the chatbot answer their pertinent questions and get their names and email addresses in return

Social proof notification widget

Use this widget to show your website visitors whenever someone interacts with your business. Many people need reassurance, and seeing that someone else is taking an action that they are considering can significantly boost the chances of conversion
