Adapt is a unified sales acceleration platform that helps businesses find prospects, generate leads, and optimize sales and marketing by using the company’s global B2B database of organizations and contacts. The database has about 100 million business contacts. The platform offers three tools — Lead Builder, Prospector, and Engage.
Quick and smooth prospecting without delay is crucial for every sales rep, recruiter, marketing leader, decision-maker, and the like. Adapt’s goal is to provide that kind of efficiency. It enables users to perform fast and detailed searches through its database to find suitable prospects and turn them into high-quality leads. Adapt’s Engage tool is designed to automate the process of engaging with prospects. This is further expanded through integration with some of the leading CRM tools in the industry, such as HubSpot and Salesforce.
We reviewed Adapt’s pricing and essential features to help you make an informed decision on whether it is the best solution for your organization’s needs. Our list of alternatives can help you compare it to some of the other prominent software in the industry. No matter what choice you make, it should be a conscious one.
Lead generation and outreach software is our domain. Sell SaaS was founded by Mathieu Picard, whose previous company — AnyLeads — has had major success working with big players like Microsoft, Amazon, and Google. Thanks to AnyLeads, these industry giants managed to generate more than 10,000,000 leads.
We will not tell you what to do. Our goal is to help you learn as much as you can about the software so that you can choose the best solution for optimizing your sales process.
Let’s get down to assessing Adapt’s pricing and features.
Adapt is an ambitious tool platform created by an Indian developer team. The company was awarded 3rd place in G2.com’s 2019 review of the best software companies in India. Their goal is to provide an efficient sales acceleration platform that helps users search for prospects, turn them into leads, and automate the process of moving them down the sales funnel. They target organizations of all sizes — from startups to large enterprises.
Before you decide to commit to a pricing plan, you have the option to use the free versions of the tools. You get an overview of the features and a chance to assess the magnitude of the database. To generate leads that you can work with, you have to opt for a paid plan. This is where it gets a bit complicated.
You only need to input an email and password for the free version. The company also offers what they call a “free trial.” This option is problematic because signing up for it isn’t straightforward. The link on the website doesn’t seem to take you where it should because after typing in the same info as for the free version, you don’t get upgraded to the free trial. If you attempt to do it via a prompt in one of the tools, you’ll be taken to a popup screen where you are asked to type in, among other essential information, your business email — Gmail and Yahoo don’t count.
This is the first red flag that something is amiss. In the next step, you will be taken to a calendar where you can schedule an online chat with a company representative. Just the fact that the step that takes you there is clicking the button that says “Get Pricing” makes the arrangement look shady.
If you want to check the pricing for Lead Builder, you will be taken to the same popup screen as for the “free trial.” The website’s “Pricing” page only lets you see the options for Prospector.
Adapt.io Prospector Pricing
The good news is that the given prices are per plan and not per user. You can opt for the annual plan to get a discount. Both the Basic and Growth plans have limited contacts and users, and the former has no CRM integrations. If you run a sizable business and need unlimited resources, you will have to contact the company to get the pricing for the Enterprise plan. You can test out the Prospector Chrome extension for free, but the limitations aren’t specified anywhere. To make things more confusing, you can read in the FAQ right below that the Growth plan provides 5,000 contacts. This is contradictory to what the pricing menu says.
Adapt.io Engage Pricing
Engage only allows you to get access to the pricing options via the tool. They are, however, more clear-cut than the ones for Prospector. If you’re using the free version of the tool, here you can overview your current options in detail.
The Starter plan offers unlimited contacts and sequences for an unrestricted number of agents at a price of $25 monthly per user. You get a 20% discount if you choose the annual commitment.
The Custom plan makes the options confusing, because the offer claims that it provides the tool for more than 10 members of your team. If you get unlimited users with the Starter plan, why would you need to apply for an allegedly superior solution?
Before we assess Adapt’s features in detail, here is an overview of some of the crucial information about the platform and company:

With the Lead Builder tool, you can search for leads in Adapt’s database, which contains more than 30 million contacts. You can do so by inputting a company name or use the advanced search to get more specific results.
Adapt.io Lead Builder: Advanced Search
“Top Filters” can be used to define the contact name, location, and industry. You can opt for all the available industry options, check several of them at once, or focus on just one — like retail, telecommunications, education, etc.
The newly introduced option titled “Location Preference” lets you decide whether you want to base your search on the location of the contact, the company’s HQ, or both. You can define a geographical region such as, for example, North America, and/or narrow your search down to a precise country, state, city, and zip code. Excluding countries that aren’t of interest to your business can further improve your search results.
The “Contact Filters” section enables you to specify the contact’s title, department, and level. The title and level options aren’t available in the free version. If you have opted for one of the pricing plans, you can search for a contact who is a vice president in the sales department.
Under “Company Filters,” you can input a company name and SIC codes. The “List Search” tab lets you choose a particular list to focus on — such as Forbes 2000, BSE, and Fortune 200. You can also upload lists in CSV format of companies that you want to include or exclude. If the options are unlocked, it is possible to set the exact employee count and revenue of the company. There is also the possibility to filter the results according to email deliverability — more than 70%, 80%, or 90%.
Adapt.io Lead Builder: Search Results
Once you’ve got your search results, you can look at individual contact details by clicking on one of the “View Contact” buttons on the right side of the screen. If you want to generate all of the leads in the results, you should check the box on top of the list and then click the “Get Contacts” button. It is possible to add all the leads to a new list so that you can track them easily.
Adapt.io Lead Builder: My Leads
You can view all your lists when you click on the “My Leads” tab on the left side of the dashboard. By selecting all your contacts, you can export them to one of the integrated CRMs, or download them as a CSV.
In the free version, you can neither generate the leads nor view individual contact info. To generate leads, you have to opt for one of the pricing plans.
For more lead generation options, you can install Adapt’s Prospector as a Chrome extension. Its purpose is to gather company and contact information from LinkedIn and websites expeditiously.

If you’ve identified your ideal customer, you can use the Prospector on a company’s website. Beside essential business information, you’ll be able to gather contact data that you can implement into your list of leads, export into your favorite CRM, or download as a CSV file.
Adapt’s Engage tool is where you can automate how your teams operate. You can do this via:

Input a name for your sequence
You can choose one of the predefined options. The templates include inbound, outbound, and follow-up sequences, each predesigned for new leads, cold leads, and lead follow-up. Pick a template and click the “Create And Customize” button

Choose whether you want the particular stage to be in the form of a periodical email or task for a LinkedIn-specific activity — such as sending a message or connection request
Click the “Save” button
When you are finished setting up a sequence, you need to import contacts. You can do so:
Directly in the Sequences tab
By selecting them in the Contacts tab
Via integrations
Adding a contact directly can be done by:
Click the “Add Contact” button
Add a new recipient by inputting contact information or upload a contact list in the form of a CSV file
If you want to use your Contacts tab, you need to:
Go to “Contacts” from the navigation bar

Choose “Add To Sequence”
For introducing contacts via integrations, you need the Engage Chrome extension
Once you’ve set up the contacts, you’ll be able to preview and schedule your sequence. Click on “Start Sequence” when you’re ready. You’ll be able to track its performance in the “Analytics” and “Contacts” tabs.
Besides sequences, you can also create and manage singular tasks. Go to the “Tasks” tab from the navigation bar on the left and click on the “Add Task” button in the top right corner.
Adapt.io Engage Task Creation
Here you will be able to pick the task type. You can either create a manual email or choose from one of the LinkedIn-specific actions, such as:
Viewing a profile
Sending a connection request to a profile
Sending a message
Interacting with a post
Schedule the task and click on the “Create Task” button.
To expand Adapt software’s capabilities further into CRM territory, you can integrate it with leading industry solutions such as:
HubSpot
Salesforce
Zoho
Pipedrive
You can also connect Engage with your Gmail account and use it to import contacts.
You can use Adapt Engage to track your team’s performance. Look for the “Reports” tab in the navigation bar. You can overview the following statistics for every team member:
Emails sent
Open rate
Click rate
Reply Rate
Contacts added
Tasks completed
Note that this option isn’t available in the free version of Adapt.
In the “Teams” tab, you can invite new members and track who is active. To add a team member, you need to:
Click the “Add User” button in the top right corner
Type in their name, email address, and job title
Set their role to “Administrator” or “User”
If we take a look at the leading sales acceleration software in the industry, Adapt has significantly fewer integrations to offer. Having four CRM integrations and the ability to connect with Gmail isn’t a lot for a platform that intends to make the most out of a substantial B2B database of companies and contacts. It may be useful for compiling an extensive list of prospects and turning them into leads, but it is debatable how efficient the platform’s features are in helping you move the leads down the funnel. It would benefit from social media, telephony, collaboration, and/or live chat integrations. Many other sales acceleration tools are integrated with Zapier, enabling users to connect with almost any app that can improve their business processes.
The most glaring issue with Adapt’s platform is the ambiguous nature of the company’s pricing tactics. The lack of transparency in paid plans and consistency in what they claim to offer should make us question the overall quality of the product.
